THE 2012/13 SEASON IS UPON US

Welcome back to the Blog! We have a few changes to highlight and we wanted to give you a heads up... First of all, we are changing the name of the Nancy Greene Program to U10 and U12. There will not be any other significant changes other than perhaps some eligibility requirements for certain races. Also, we've divided up the coordinator positions for U10 and U12 - a huge THANKS to Julie Langevin who will coordinate the U12 group while I focus on the U10. Julie will be posting relevant U12 information on this blog as well. A couple of announcements.... please remember the MWSC FUNdraiser GOLF TOURNAMENT at Mulligans (in Courtenay) on Saturday, Sept. 22. Trust me, even if you can't golf, this is a fun event - you get 9 holes, a BBQ lunch and prizes all for a low entry fee. We'd love to see this annual tournament the biggest ever (plus we'd like to see everyone we haven't seen since last season!) You can contact John Trimmer to register (jtrimmer@telus.net) and remember - kids are welcome. We have new registration and club membership forms this year. They are in the process of being uploaded to the website, so check them out in the next couple of weeks. Our season actually will be starting earlier (Dec. 29/30) - this early start will replace the Xmas camp. Paul Francisty has a new address, so please make sure you send in paperwork to his new home (the address is on the new forms.) Also, the EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION is due on October 15. I will also be continuing to do the MWSC clothing. There was some discussion last season about club jackets. Since the order is placed in February, it was decided that we would limit the jackets to the U12 and older, simply because we wouldn't have the inventory to sell jackets to the U10 group. For those in U10 who would like a club jacket for the next season (2013/14), you can pre-pay and we include your order with our regular one this February. On a personal note, we finally put to use your generous gifts to us and went to Disneyland this summer. We found out that Jared melts in the heat and Trent is just like his mom and LOVES roller coasters.... we had a blast so thank you for that. HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL VERY SOON! Kerri
